Like stygian but not a dumb pass/fail mechanic. Don't regret buying it if you love the game tho, supporting a solid dev team is still nice ontop of the fact you'll probably get around to it later anyway when you feel more up to it. If you're still just grasping at the game at your own pace, nah. If you really like the base game, have at least completed it/near completed it once and want a bit more spice to the game- Absolutely enable it and don't be intimidated. However as someone less inclined to make newcomers or fence-sitters feel like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for asking a simple question: As others before have stated, you can enjoy some of the additions without turning the DLC fully on. Its not hard as it is just another layer of frustration that, if not really getting into the vibe of DD with the stress-issues to new players then it will become TOO annoying to get through to become that jaded soul who thinks the game is just SO EASY if you just do what i've learned to do and ONLY play it that way. As someone that likes vampire-esque aesthetics- I am absolutely BORED with that music type thats slapped into it almost every damn time.Ĭrimson Court is great additional content, but to downplay it as 'not that hard, requires low-effort blahblah' as RopeDrink is prone to doing, is a bit of a troll/jaded to me. You don't need anything from it to beat the game- Just new stuff to tinker with and some of it feels more advanced-strategy to make better use of (not a bad thing)- but as much as I love DD's music, the music for it was way too vampire-generic-opera that I didn't like it that much. The additional story is short, but alright.
